By the 12th grade year, scholars have been fully immersed in the Chavez Public Policy curriculum and are ready to take on an even deeper and more independent project to increase their knowledge and understanding of policy issues. The Senior Thesis is the culminating project at Chavez Schools; scholars research a relevant public policy issue and write a 15-20 page research paper, which they present to public policy professionals and community members. The top three seniors are selected to showcase their work at the annual Chavez Schools’ Public Policy Symposium.

The Hoops for Heart event will take place this Thursday, March 30th at 1:00.  Fourth through eighth grade will be participating.  The students will be in teams encompassing 4th-8th grades.  Students at Jordan Public Schools will be raising money for the American Heart Association and participating in an activity in which they will be get to exercise and have fun at the same time.   The American Heart Association plays a vital role in the reduction of heart disease through research and education.  If you wish to make a donation to the AMA, contact Carrie Murnion at GCDHS (557-2454) or any student in grades 4-8.  Thank you.
